Each new church year at Covenant begins with Advent. Advent begins with Sunday morning breakfasts, and a variety of intergenerational learning and activity centers in place of the usual church school time. In addition to the traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service of Carols and Scriptures, seasonal activities may include a caroling party or progressive dinner. The Joy Offering is received the Sunday before Christmas.

The Ash Wednesday Service, with imposition of ashes and Holy Communion, marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Special Lenten programming often includes luncheons or suppers with appropriate activities and reflection. Maundy Thursday is observed with either a Seder Meal or an Agape Meal and Holy Communion. The Tenebrae Service marks Good Friday. During the regular Easter Sunday Worship, Covenant receives the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.

In the fall, Covenant sponsors the Alternative Gift Market featuring items supplied by 10,000 Villages world-wide and other fair trade organizations. These fair trade organizations return the majority of their profits to the crafts workers who produce the items. The public sale is usually in late November or early December, with shopping available to the congregation, Sundays during Advent.
